Odyssey 2022 day 7 actually

Update: life is good. I went ahead and reconfigured the Scarlott Waters. Now she's set up for short trips and spending the night on board. Check out the full size bed which now dominates the cabin!
thanks to the wonderful friends who helped me along the way to this destination. Hanging out in Baltimore...

What a beautiful morning! I started out as planned with all winds and tides as predicted, motoring out of Solomon's Island at 6:45 a.m. into a beautiful sunrise with only the main sail up, (still reefed from the day before). I knew I had a two hour cussing built into my trip which should take about 10 hours putting me at my destination around 430 pm.  I decided to lose the reefing lines and put the main sail all the way up and began preparing to do so. Then at 8:20 a.m. the motor quit. It acted like an electrical problem but I double checked anyway to make sure it was not fuel. Checked the coil. My main suspicion is that the points closed up I will attempt to repair and continue while sailing under light winds. This is not as simple as it sounds for example a barge being pushed by a tug hailed me and wanted to make sure I was not going to cross his bow because about had decided to change course a little bit while I was looking around in the engine compartment. It is now 9:00 and I have not been able to take enough time to check the points yet. It is now 11:00 and I am under full sail (the motor still not working)making four and a half knots  downwind. I am on a 23 nautical mile leg which ends below Annapolis and I am on about mile 8 of that 23 Mile leg.
It is now 2:00 p.m. and I am even with the end of that 23 Mile leg. h
However, I did not follow my planned route due to the direction of the wind which has increased to a steady 25 knots from the south southwest. Instead, I took a more direct route North and was able to maintain an average speed over ground of 6.5 knots. I plan to sail the whole way today if the wind holds up.
The wind held and I crossed under the Bay bridge at 5:30pm.

I called in to magothy Marina myat 6:45 p.m. had to sail into the slip because I still had no motor.  I had a nice stiff breeze the whole way which actually picked up as I approached the marina. I zoomed in under full Sail and when I made the turn into the slips I was directly into the wind and dropped both the sails. I saw two people running out to help me. I slid up beside a piling and grab hold to stop the boat's movement after fishing the Jib out of the water. Several guests of wind came in that exact moment and almost started the boat moving forward into the side of another boat and the slip next to the one I had chosen. Thank goodness my grip on the telephone pole and where I was standing happened to be one of the stays for the mast. And I was able to keep the boat in place and just let it rotate right into where it needed to go. Many thanks to Eric and Brian that day! They threw me a rope, helped me tie up to the pier and offered a nice welcome.
